PING   -   PONG     ENGINE




IN MARCH AND APRIL, 1904 BALDWIN BUILT FIVE 2-6-2 TANK ENGINES FOR USE ON THE NORTH SIDE DIVISION.   CLASSIFIED "S51", THEY WERE VIRTUAL DUPLICATES OF TWENTY JERSEY CENTRAL LOCOMOTIVES BUILT IN 1902 AND 1903 BY BALDWIN.   IN 1911 OR 1912 THE FIVE LONG ISLAND ENGINES WERE SOLD TO THE JERSEY CENTRAL.

THESE ENGINES WERE REFERRED TO AS

PING   -   PONG     ENGINES
