THE   CONEY   ISLAND   ELEVATED   RAILWAY   CONTINUED




IN OCTOBER 1897 THE SEA VIEW RAIL ROAD WAS
OWNED BY THE BROOKLYN RAPID TRANSIT COMPANY.

IN 1897 OR EARLY 1898 ELECTRIFICATION WAS BEGUN.
ON MAY 23, 1899 THE SEA VIEW BOUGHT THE
BROOKLYN & BRIGHTON BEACH RAILROAD.

ON JULY 1, 1899 THE SEA VIEW WAS LEASED
TO THE BROOKLYN HEIGHTS RAILROAD.

ON MAY 2, 1900 THE COMPANY WAS AQUIRED BY
THE KINGS COUNTY ELEVATED RAILROAD COMPANY.

ON MAY 9, 1900 THESE COMPANIES WERE MERGED AND ON MAY 24
THEY MERGED WITH THE BROOKLYN UNION ELEVATED RAILROAD.

IN 1900 THE ELEVATED STRUCTURE WAS DEMOLISHED.
THE TRACKS WERE RELAID ON THE GROUND AND USED
TO CONNECT THE BRIGHTON LINE WITH THE CULVER LINE.













THE PROPERTY BOUGHT FROM THE KINGS COUNTY RAILWAY AND THE CONEY ISLAND
ELEVATED RAILWAY/SEA VIEW RAIL ROAD TERMINAL AT THE BRIGHTON BEACH HOTEL.


THIS VIEW IS 1890 OR LATER AS THE CONEY ISLAND AND BROOKLYN RAILROAD - LEFT FOREGROUND
TO RIGHT - HAS BEEN ELECTRIFIED.   ONE OF THEIR CARS IS IN THE DISTANCE AT THE RIGHT.
THE CONEY ISLAND ELEVATED RY. / SEA VIEW R.R. DEPOT IS JUST WEST OF THE HOTEL BRIGHTON.




ACCORDING TO THIS DOCUMENT THE ORIGINAL TERMINAL WAS MOVED EAST TO THE MARINE
RAILWAY DEPOT AND THE RIGHT-OF-WAY WAS EXTENDED VIA A LOOP BACK TO THE MAIN TRACK.
