first pour!
The gang (Stan, Jeff, and, introducing, Brent) moved rock around this
morning, and got ready for the first concrete pour at 12:30. The
driver was probably a half-hour late, but he got there, and was very
helpful, driving here and there to get the concrete exactly where it
was needed. He didn't sink axle-deep into the soil as we thought he
might. And he was able to reach all parts of the footers from only
three locations, avoiding the softest side.
The concrete set a little faster than they thought it would, so the
screeding was a bit of a challenge. Had to add some water to the
farthest corner, but they got it all down level.
