CHANGE   AT   CENTRE   MORICHES

UNTIL 1906 CENTRE MORICHES WAS A TERMINAL WITH A WYE AND SMALL YARD.   EMPLOYE TIME TABLE NUMBER 8 - DECEMBER 4, 1898 - SHOWS THE SCOOT LEAVING AMAGANSETT AT 9:10 A.M. AND THE SHUTTLE LEAVING SAG HARBOR AT 9:15 A.M.,   BOTH AS TRAIN NUMBER 892,   AND CONNECTING AT BRIDGEHAMPTON.   DEPARTING THERE AT 9:32, THE TRAIN STOPPED AT EASTPORT AT 10:28 AND CONTINUED WEST TO CENTRE MORICHES TO CONNECT THERE WITH WESTBOUND TRAIN NUMBER 68 WHICH ORIGINATED THERE.   AFTER NUMBER 11 WENT EAST AT 10:43 THE SCOOT DEPARTED EASTWARD AS NUMBER 896 AT 10:48,   PROBABLY BACKING THE TRAIN,   TO EASTPORT WHERE IT PICKED UP ITS GREENPORT CONNECTION DROPPED BY NUMBER 11.   IT LEFT EASTPORT STILL AS NUMBER 896 AT 10:57,   MADE AN "S" STOP AT MANOR AT 11:10 AND DEPARTED EASTBOUND AT 11:15 AS NUMBER 893,   ARRIVING AT GREENPORT AT 12:18 P.M.   THE RETURN TRIP LEFT GREENPORT AT 1:50 P.M. AS NUMBER 894,   ARRIVED AT MANOR AT 2:51 AND DEPARTED AT 3:00 P.M. AS NUMBER 895.   ARRIVING AT EASTPORT AT 3:24,   A CONNECTION WAS DROPPED FOR WESTBOUND NUMBER   12   TO L.I.CITY AND BROOKLYN VIA THE MONTAUK DIVISION.   NUMBER   895   ARRIVED AT AMAGANSETT AT   4:44.
THE CONNECTING SHUTTLE ARRIVED AT SAG HARBOR AT   4:33.
