THE WINDMILL APPEARS IN THE DISTANCE IN THIS PHOTOGRAPH AND TWO CLOSEUPS. MINUS THE BLADES AND MECHANICAL APPARATUS THE WINDMILL LASTED UNTIL 1939. THE BUILDING ON THE RIGHT IS THE C.R.R.L.I. FREIGHT HOUSE.
THE PRESENT STATION WAS BUILT IN 1898 WITH "EYEBROW" WINDOWS. THE LOWER QUADRANT SEMAPHORE SIGNALS WERE TRAIN ORDER SIGNALS. GARDEN CITY CEASED BEING A TRAIN ORDER STATION ON OCTOBER 1, 1907.
THE "EYEBROW" WINDOWS WERE GONE BY 1918.

THE TROLLEY SHUTTLE USED A THIRD TRACK IN GARDEN CITY STATION SOUTH OF THE EASTBOUND PLATFORM. THIS BLUEPRINT HAD THE TRACK BLUED OUT BUT IT CAN BE DISCERNED SOUTH OF THE PLATFORM AND ACROSS HILTON AVENUE.
