THE LONG ISLAND CITY AND MANHATTAN BEACH RAILROAD COMPANY
WAS INCORPORATED FEBRUARY 24, 1883 TO CONNECT THE NEW YORK & MANHATTAN BEACH RAILWAY AT COOPER AVENUE JUNCTION WITH THE LONG ISLAND RAIL ROAD MONTAUK DIVISION AT FRESH POND JUNCTION.

A TOWER WAS ERECTED AT MYRTLE AVENUE TROLLEY CROSSING IN JUNE, 1892

MYRTLE AVENUE STATION
IN 1893 A PASSENGER STATION WAS OPENED. THE 1914 GRADE CROSSING ELIMINATION PROVIDED A SHORT PLATFORM WITH STAIRS TO THE STREET. THE STATION CLOSED IN 1924 AND THE STAIRWAY WAS SEALED BUT SOME REMAINS LASTED. THESE ARE 1982 PHOTOGRAPHS.

CYPRESS AVENUE STATION
IN 1883 A PASSENGER STATION WAS OPENED. THIS IS LOOKING SOUTH FROM CYPRESS AVENUE CROSSING.
THE 1914 GRADE CROSSING ELIMINATION PROVIDED A SHORT PLATFORM WITH STAIRS TO THE STREET.

THE NEW YORK, BROOKLYN AND MANHATTAN BEACH RAILWAY COMPANY.
