THE SPECIAL TRAVELED FROM JAMAICA TO BAY RIDGE STOPPING FIRST BETWEEN
EAST NEW YORK AND NEW LOTS.   ART BELIEVES THIS IS LIBERTY AVENUE.

"In fact the photo was taken south of Livonia Ave. looking north.
The New Lots IRT el and the old footbridge at Livonia Ave. cross over the LIRR.
The Canarsie el's Livonia Ave. station is at right running along Van Sinderen Ave. in East New York.

Great photo!
Regards,
Tom Appell"

THANKS TOM!

THIS IS VANDERVEER PARK WHERE FLATBUSH AVENUE CROSSES THE RAILROAD

BAY RIDGE YARD

ENGINE 50 PULLED THE TRAIN TO FRESH POND RUNNING TENDER FIRST, TURNED ON THE WYE, COUPLED UP AND HEADED FOR LONG ISLAND CITY VIA THE MONTAUK CUT OFF.

FROM LONG ISLAND CITY WE HEADED FOR OYSTER BAY.

H10s NUMBER 111 WOULD BRING US WEST.

ENGINE 50 WAS TURNED AND LAID UP FOR MONDAY MORNING.

A "SLOW APPROACH" SIGNAL ALLOWS US TO ENTER "NASSAU" INTERLOCKING, MINEOLA.

NEXT STOP WAS HOLBAN YARD WHERE FOUR H10s'S AWAITED THEIR SCRAPPING.
THESE ENGINES WERE CUT UP STILL BEARING THEIR NUMBER AND BUILDERS PLATES.

LEAVING HOLBAN YARD AT ST. ALBANS WE TRAVELED VIA THE MONTAUK
BRANCH TO VALLEY STREAM WHERE WE PICKED UP ORDERS TO RUN EXTRA
AND ENTERED THE SINGLE-TRACK WEST HEMPSTEAD BRANCH.

AT HEMPSTEAD CROSSING,   COUNTRY LIFE PRESS,   WE HEADED
WEST TOWARD GARDEN CITY,   THEN BACKED TO MITCHEL FIELD.
THESE PHOTOS WERE A FLASH LIGHTED AND A 1/15 SECOND EXPOSURE.
